My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Creamsicle is a strikingly handsome, short-haired neutered male orange tabby, about 1.5 yrs old (DOB 6/25/24.) His mom is a friendly stray that delivered Creamsicle, his brother and three sisters in a flower bed next to our garage. All of his littermates are mostly black so he is really an eyecatcher! He has always been affectionate towards his foster family and purrs loudly when held. He loves to play soccer with a “fuzzy ball“ (yarn pom-pom) and then curl up on your lap to nap. He’ll melt your heart when he looks into your eyes and meows “hello.”  He’s current on his distemper and rabies vaccines, been tested for Felv/FIV, on Frontline plus flea and tick treatment, and gets his claws trimmed every one to two weeks. He’s strictly an inside kitty and has used a litter box reliably since he was five weeks old. He’s never been around dogs, but gets along well with other cats. He’s had limited exposure to kids and seems to enjoy them.  If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 or hhfrey1@tds.net

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Potential adopters are required to complete our application before adoption. Our adoption fee varies based on the age and breed of the cat. The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
