COURTESY POST — Seeking New Home for “Nala”
Date: Wednesday, October 1, 2025
â ï¸ Please note: Nala is not at the shelter.
This is a courtesy post to help the owner find a safe and appropriate new home. All inquiries should be directed to the owner, not Yolo County Animal Services.
Meet Nala, a sweet and affectionate 9-month-old Labrador mix who is looking for a new home that can match her energy and needs. She has been with her current caregiver for only two weeks after coming from a friend.
Breed: Labrador Mix
Age: 9 months
Color: Black & White
Gender: Female (not spayed)
Vaccines: Up to date
Potty Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Unknown
Living Situation: Primarily indoors
Background: Came from a farm in Placer County, where she lived with multiple dogs and other animals on acreage. Adjusting to life inside a home has been challenging for her, and she struggles when left alone.
Children: Has never been around children
Visitors: Hesitant at first, but warms up quickly with a sniff — then she’s full of love, pets, and happy licks
Other Dogs: Has lived with dogs before
Handling/Sharing: Allows people to take food and toys
Additional Notes: Still a puppy at heart and may need additional training, routine, and mental enrichment. She thrives with companionship and attention.
Behavior-related concerns tied to her adjustment from farm life to indoor living and needing more attention than her current caregiver can provide.
Nala is young, loving, and eager to bond with a family who can give her the time, activity, and support she needs to flourish.
All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
