My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Zoe!

Zoe and her siblings Levi and Erwin, as well as their mom, Tetra, two other cats, and a senior pitbull, were all surrendered to Paterson Animal control after their elderly owner unfortunately passed away. Luckily, we were able to take all of them!

Zoe is the most outgoing of the trio and will come right up to us to sit in our laps and ask for love! She is incredibly playful and enjoys wrestling and cuddling with her brothers. And she usually wins! All three of these babies are incredibly sweet and love attention - and churus! Zoe will even give little growls to protect her churu from her greedy brothers, but she is always gentle.

While being looked over by our vets, they did discover that Zoe and her brother Erwin have mild heart murmurs, around grade 1. Zoe's heart murmur may be something she grows out of down the line, but for her health, it should be monitored during yearly checkups.

This sweet girl is full of love to give and has the most beautiful little purrs! She would be an amazing addition to any family, and if possible would love to go home with one of her brothers or to a home with another kitty!

More about this shelter

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. is founded on the belief that all animals have a natural right to humane treatment including proper care and safe shelter. Due to overpopulation, there are insufficient homes for most cats and dogs. Some are lucky enough to find temporary shelter and a few even find permanent homes. However it is a devastating fact that the majority are either euthanized or forced to chance life without shelter.

To support our belief and to relieve the unnecessary suffering of animals, we shall:
1.Extend every effort to find, evaluate, and secure good adoptive homes for animals in our care.
2.Provide animals with medical services and behavior therapy to the extent of our ability.
3.Adhere to a “no-kill” policy: animals shall not be euthanized for the purpose of providing space for new animals.
4.Adhere to a 100% spay and neuter policy.
5.Maintain continuing humane education programs and in particular to schools.
