My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BELIEVES THE QUIET AND EASY-GOING LIFESTYLE IS THE WAY TO GO. GENTLY PLAYFUL ENJOYING ALL TOYS. HE`S HAPPIEST WHEN PEOPLE ARE AROUND THAT ALSO SHARE HIS ATTITUDE. WILL PREFER QUIETLY FUN KIDS THAT TREAT HIM GENTLY. HE`S FINE AROUND OTHER NICE CATS. NEEDS REGULAR BRUSHING AND OCCASIONAL GROOMING. NO FEATHERED TOYS, WILL EAT FEATHERS!

I like finding a cozy quiet place to relax, hidden, but where I can see what`s going on. Having a box bed (or something similar) in a quiet corner, and in the middle of a cat tree would be perfect! When I see that people have arrived, I come out on my own, but I will definitely make an appearance upon request! Just wiggle your fingers and call my name! I`m a little insecure at first, but I love getting pet and simply adore being around people, it doesn`t take much to win my trust! Getting treats is one way to make an impression, but it`s not necessary, I`m going to like everybody anyway! I like being out and about, wandering around the room, and stopping to play with an occasional toy. I was an instant fan of the motion activated toy that moves under a sheet with a butterfly fluttering on top! Even though my play speed is set on low, I still have fun playing with that toy! Their toys come from Amazon.

Getting to know a new place, I may come out for a few minutes and then go back and forth to my safe, quiet spot, as I get my bearings and know it`s a safe space. All I need to be brave, is my sweet-talking supportive people. Lead or carry me to new places, show me around and let me explore each space. Put me on my cat tree to check it out and point me to food and litter. Toss out a couple of toys, add a tunnel if you want, then turn on that toy I like, and I`ll start to feel right at home! Once I get comfy, I`ll be ready to play with our wand toy with you. I`ll enjoy a cushy mat on the couch to join you there after having a warm snuggle. Encourage me to play and get exercise, feed me proper portions of food so I`ll look fit and healthy again. Keep me brushed and I`ll be a very handsome fellow, soft, cuddly and a wonderful buddy!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
