My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Erbie’s Story

It was a lovely late summer evening. The cat colony caretaker spotted the two regulars grey tabbies waiting for dinner. As she began distributing food, a little tortie face popped out from behind a big maple tree. The surprised caretaker set out an extra helping just for her.

The tortie wasted no time making a b-line for the food. A bomb could have gone off and she wouldn’t have moved from the pile of kibble topped with Friskies shreds. She was hungry!

Over the next few weeks, the tortie faithfully greeted the caretaker at the feeding station. In short order, it became clear to the caretaker that the “new arrival” was tame to humans. She wanted attention and petting almost as much as she wanted food. And she was just adorable.

The caretaker applied flea treatment on the tortie and two days later, placed her in a pet carrier and took her home to await her spay appointment later that week. The rest is history.

Since “Erbie” was found on the streets of Detroit, she was named for one. She is a beautifully sleek tortie almost 1 year old. She weighs about 7 lbs and has a very long tail. She was spayed and has received her Rabies and 2 distemper vaccines. Erbie tested negative for both FIV and FeLuk. (Hooray!) She is now microchipped as well.

Erbie is playful, curious, and loves her food. Now that she is an indoor kitty, she seems to prefer kibble but enjoys canned food as well. She is fastidious in her dining and litter box habits. She likes toys (and with humans with toys) and enjoys the company of both. Erbie has come a long way in the past several weeks. Now she is waiting to bring joy to a forever home.
