Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Chip came to us around Thanksgiving 2025, with 4 other kittens (non-littermates). He came to very sick, with upper respiratory, eye and ear infections. He was dehydrated and malnourished and had an uphill battle to conquer.
Being the oldest of the group, Chip didn't have it as bad as the littles but soon with tender loving care administered around the clock by our shelter staff, Chip soon began to make strides to good health. With time, he overcame the slew of medical issues and is now in good health.
Chip is neutered and has received his distemper and rabies vaccines. He is up to date on flea & tick preventative and is also feline leukemia & FIV tested. He is negative for both.
We do not know how he would do with dogs - this is something we have not tested. He doesn't seem to mind other cats.
He prefers to keep to himself and observe from a quiet place. He is on the reclusive side of the personality scale however he does come out and enjoy being pet once he comes around and is no longer scared. He will need a patient and loving family who will allow him to be him, perhaps from a distance for some time. The world he knew before here was scary and unpredictable - he needs time to know that not all people and environments are scary.
Ideal home: Chip may not do well with super young kids due to the high level of activity. He's not keen on being picked up and played with. He prefers to 'exist' and not be the center of attention.
Chip is a good kitty and worth the investment and wait. With time and familiarity, we trust that Chip will make a great companion for a family.

Additional adoption info
We are a donation based operation located in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. We fully vet, vaccinate and medicate animals that come into our care according to their age under the direction of our team of veterinarians: Riverside Vet Clinic. All dogs and cats receive a comprehensive wellness exam, distemper, rabies (if old enough), are dewormed & medicated for flea/tick/heartworms (as a preventative). Occassionally, we will receive a very sick animal who will require significantly more vetting than others and those vet fees are offset into the adoption fee. This would be why some animals are priced higher than others.
