My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roby and Layla are a bonded pair of 4-year-old siblings who complement each other beautifully and are looking for a forever home where they can stay together.

Roby is a sweet, affectionate, and gentle boy who brings warmth to any space he enters. Once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly lovinghe enjoys being petted, held, and staying close to his humans. Roby is great with adults and children, and with slow introductions he can coexist comfortably with gentle dogs. He prefers wet food, drinks plenty of water, and loves to show off his playful side late at night, batting around toys and exploring his surroundings with enthusiasm.

Layla, a sweet and gentle girl, has a calm, friendly nature that makes her instantly lovable. Shes wonderful with both adults and children and adjusts well to mild-mannered dogs after a short period of warming up. Layla is curious and observant, happily exploring every corner of the house and enjoying quiet companionship by your side. She prefers dry food, drinks lots of water, and becomes delightfully playful at night, entertaining herself with toys and anything that sparks her interest.
Together, Roby and Layla are a harmonious, affectionate duo who will bring joy, warmth, and companionship to their new home.

More about this shelter

As many of you may already know, we have a mission: To enhance the lives of Montgomery County Maryland residents and animals through programs directed at education, adoption, animal shelter, and low cost spay/neuter. The AWLMC is committed to ending the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Montgomery County, Maryland. With this in mind, we are partnering with the county shelter to help save the most at-risk animals. Currently, we are only working with cats.

In order to save as many cats as possible, we have opened a no-kill shelter in Gaithersburg. We need your help in the form of direct financial donations and by volunteering your time. Our organization is strong and full of highly dedicated volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, professions and abilities. We are working together to save the lives of cats and kittens, to find them loving, forever homes and to have them spay/neutered. All of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County.
