Dog Name: Twitch
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Sex: Female
Age: 3-5
Weight: 9lbs
Medical Needs: Twitch came to us with a seizure diagnosis from the previous family (though there are no medical records confirming this).
She has been with us for 5 weeks now and no seizure activity has been witnessed, so she is not currently taking medication for it.
Should seizure activity be witnessed in the future while she’s with us, we will share that info with our vet and see if her treatment plan needs to be updated. Adoptive family will need to be willing to do the same.
She also has an undulant trachea, which has resulted in weak/wavy trachea, and due to this her spay will be scheduled at Avenue Veterinary Clinic in Milford. Keeping this appointment is a condition of adoption, and foster to adopt family must live within 1 hour of Milford to ensure she can be brought back for her appointment.
Housebroken: Yes, not a single accident!
Crate trained: Yes, she goes in and settles right down without any fuss
Good in the car: Yes; she likes to watch the world go by, and can be a squirmy worm for the first few minutes, but then she settles down.
Good on a leash: Yes
Energy level: Medium. She likes to skitter about, but I wouldn't call her a crackhead by any means.
Need a fenced in yard: No, leashed walks will be fine.
Dog Friendly: Yes, though she is intimidated by dogs larger than her, and will run and hide if they're too energetic.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, she'd be happy to be your sole princess
Cat Friendly? She can definitely live with cats. She just gives them a very polite and respectable 10ft of space because they are weird and creepy and also bigger than her, and she don't want that smoke
Kid Friendly: Yes
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Old enough to understand to be gentle with her, for she is Tiny and therefore Fragile
Traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Twitch is the fastest little football on four legs you'll ever meet in your life! At least, that's what her foster dad tells her, and it gets her super stoked and then she gets Gremlin Face and proceeds to try and run even FASTER, because Twitch doesn't want people to think he's a liar. Therefore, she must be the speediest of all speed racers. When she's not racing around like the fastest little streak who simply cannot be beat, you can find Twitch snuggled beneath a blanket - any blanket, occupied or not, because she loves to burrow and soak up the warms and sleep on top of her foster siblings. Which is really easy to do when you're basically the size of their head. She also loves to curl up against her people, because if there is one truth that is absolutely indisputable, it's that Twitch loves her people.
