My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charles!
This lovable giant is a Cane Corso/Mastiff mix who came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past—but during his time here, Charles has shown us exactly who he is: a goofy, affectionate, people-loving sweetheart. He aims to please and will surely make a wonderful addition to the right home.

Weighing in at over 120 lbs, Charles is a big boy with an even bigger heart. Due to his size, he would do best in a private home setting (no apartments for this giant!). He would absolutely thrive in an active home where he can explore, adventure, and enjoy long hikes with his favorite human.

Charles would do best with older children, simply because he could accidentally knock over little ones without meaning to. His ideal home would be with someone who has experience with large breeds and understands the care and guidance a big dog like Charles needs.

Born approximately 2/9/2019, Charles is now neutered, fully vetted, and more than ready to break free from the shelter and find his happily-ever-after.

If you think Charles might be your perfect match, apply online at eastshoreha.org. Once your application is submitted and processed, our team will reach out to schedule a personal meet and greet.

Please note: All dog meet and greets are by approved application and appointment only—please apply before stopping by!

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
