My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Take a look inside those big, dreamy eyes - they’re saying, “Yes, human, we should stay here on the couch and watch another episode! And grab me a snack!”

Sweet and snuggly, gentle giant Finnegan is 95 pounds. He loves to lounge around, but also enjoys long walks in between his breaks.

He's working on his leash manners, and he's always looking for his next snack (he knows he’s tall - so watch your counters!) He’s happiest at meal times, and making good progress towards being house-trained and has had only a few accidents on the way.

We’re still learning how he gets along with other dogs, but he has shown he can be as chill with other dogs as he is with humans. He’s done well in his crate while his fosters are out, but in Finnegan’s perfect world he’d just get to snack on the couch with a family to snuggle up to. (AM)

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/
