My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boston is the sweetest senior you'll meet!
He thinks he is a lapdog and loves to be close to his people. He loves people of all ages, gets along great with cats and has been in a foster home with other dogs seamlessly of all sizes.
He does seem to be reactive to other dogs on occasion, so slow introductions are important to keep everyone happy.
Boston is a funny guy and can be very vocal, but he is generally a chill guy, he just really loves food!

Boston came into care suffering from some pretty uncomfortable skin infections due to untreated allergies.
He is currently on a special diet for his allergies, and is finishing up a course of oral antibiotics to heal some lingering wounds.

He has been vet checked and is in great health for his age.
If you are interested in adopting this big boy, please fill out the application linked below.
He is still in his foster home and is available for adoption by appointment only.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
