My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mango is a gorgeous, sweet boy who came to our shelter from a rough neighborhood- assumingly dumped by his previous owners. Thanks to a wonderful good samaritan, Mango was brought to HHR.

Mango gets along with other kitties and would be a great family cat for kids 8+. He has not been around dogs at our shelter. Mango is a big, fluffy, beautiful boy ready for his happily ever after.

Mango is about 2-3 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, microchipped, and current on flea/tick prevention. To meet him, please visit our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org and complete an application. Adoption donation $275

Additional adoption info

All of the animals currently residing at Halfway Home Rescue, Inc. have been examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, and are up to date with vaccinations. Each has been treated for fleas, worms, and ear mites as needed. Most of the animals that come to us have suffered lives of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Our goal is to place each animal in a home that most suits its needs. Please email us for an adoption application. This will need to be completed before any visit to our shelter. Once completed, we will set up an appointed time for you to meet each of our animals looking for homes.

If a match is made, you will fill out an adoption contract and receive all of the medical papers for your new pet. We request a $275 adoption donation per adult cat ($300 for kittens) and $600 per adult dog to help defray veterinary expenses.

More about this rescue

Halfway Home Rescue Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless animals and providing a safe haven for these animals until a permanent home can be found. While in our care, these animals are examined by a veterinarian and given proper medical attention (including spay/neuter).

Animals deemed “un-adoptable” become a part of our sanctuary and live out their natural lives under the care of volunteers and trusted veterinarians at Halfway Home Rescue Inc. We call these animals The HHR Lifers.

Halfway Home Rescue is comprised of a very small group of volunteers dedicated to making a difference. We operate 100% on private donations. Since our founding in 2004, more than 10,000 animals have passed through our doors.

All of the animals currently residing at Halfway Home Rescue, Inc. have been examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, tested for contagious diseases, and are up to date with vaccinations PRIOR TO ADOPTION.

The animals that come to us have suffered lives of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. We do not have any knowledge of their history prior to entry into HHR. Our goal is to place each animal in a home that most suits its needs. Please email us for an adoption application. The application is also available on our website www.HalfwayHomeRescue.org.
