My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunny is an adorable and friendly young tabby female around one year old. She was a young mom and gave birth inside to three gorgeous kittens by walking into an open window in the Bronx! Luckily that person gave her safe haven and brought her and the kittens to our rescue group!

Sunny's kittens are all grown up and now it is time to find her a forever home! She is friendly and sweet and ready to give and receive a lot of love!

More about this rescue

Inspired by the parable of the starfish, Big Apple Cats is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats in need, one life at a time. Our focus is on the quality of rescue, and truly 'making a difference to that one'. Our mission is to find compassionate and caring adopters so that every cat receives the love, care, and second chance they deserve.

We strive to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering, while advocating for the voiceless and underserved cats in our neighborhoods. We aim to make a difference—one cat at a time—and to inspire others in our community to start saving 'starfish' of their own.
