Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Trixie is a gentle senior girl who has been through far more than any dog ever should. She first came to Follow Your Heart earlier this year as a “last litter” mama, and when her owners recently decided to surrender her, we didn’t hesitate for a second to bring her back into our loving arms.
After a decade of surviving on the streets, raising litter after litter, and never truly knowing comfort, Trixie is finally getting her chance at the soft, peaceful life she has always deserved.
✨ Why Trixie is a Gem: • Housebroken and wonderfully polite • Great on a leash — she loves slow, gentle strolls • Non-destructive and can be trusted alone • Kennel trained and enjoys having her own cozy spot • Calm, quiet, and incredibly easy to have in the home
Trixie is still learning that she’s safe now. She needs a patient, loving home that will give her time to decompress and discover all the little joys of indoor life — warm beds, predictable routines, and the freedom to finally relax without being on constant alert.
With kindness, consistency, and a soft place to land, this beautiful soul will blossom. Whoever opens their heart to Trixie will be giving a senior dog the greatest gift of all: a peaceful, love-filled life she has waited far too long for. 💛
If you think Trixie might be your forever girl, we’d love to introduce you.
Meet Trixie — a gentle senior finally getting the soft life she’s always deserved.
After years on the streets and raising countless litters, Trixie was surrendered back to us, and we welcomed her with open arms. She’s now learning what comfort and safety truly feel like.
✨ Why she’s wonderful: • Housebroken and polite • Great on a leash • Non-destructive and trustworthy • Kennel trained • Calm, quiet, and easygoing
Trixie just needs a patient, loving home to help her decompress and enjoy the peaceful life she’s waited so long for. Whoever adopts her will be giving a truly deserving soul her happily-ever-after. 💛

More about this rescue
The Follow Your Heart Foundation is committed to preventing the unnecessary euthanization and abuse of abandoned and/or abused animals.
In order to fulfill this mission, Follow Your Heart will engage in the following activities:
Foster Program-Animals will be rescued from shelters and placed in temporary foster homes to save them from being euthanized. During this time, animals will be provided with proper nutrition, shelter and analysis to determine appropriate long term housing.
Adoption Services - the organization will work to find each animal that is rescued a forever home that is willing and able to make the long term commitment to a family pet.
Public Education - Abuse, neglect and irresponsible pet ownership leads to thousands of animals being killed each year. One way to combat these issues is through continued public education to not only raise awareness about animal abuse, but also promote responsible pet ownership.
Medical Treatment - Animals rescued will be provided proper medical treatment as needed.
