Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rufus, a handsome boy who has traded the unpredictable life of a stray for the comforts of a forever home. Though his past remains a mystery, his future is clear: being the ultimate "chill" companion. Rufus is the definition of laid-back and docile. He is the rare kind of feline who doesn't mind being held, carried around, or "messed with"—once he settles in, he is happy to just be part of whatever you're doing. While he is super shy at first and might cautiously question his next move, this hesitation is just his way of making sure he’s safe. Once that bridge of trust is built, Rufus transforms into a loyal best friend who can get along with almost anyone. If you have the patience to earn his heart, you’ll be rewarded with a very steady, very sweet feline sidekick. If you would be interested in giving me a furever home, please contact The Humane Society of Adams County, Inc. at (937) 544-8585 to set up a time to come meet me and fill out an adoption application!

Our adoption process is made up of two parts. Upon a decision to adopt an animal we require an application for adoption that asks questions such as housing and veterinary references. We then check references and may require a home visit. Upon approval you will fill out a contract for adoption and pay the adoption fees. Adoption fees are based on age and vetting required.
