Introducing Madam Mim, a delicate little soul with a heart ready to heal. This beautiful poodle–Maltese mix weighs just 10 pounds and is about 6 years old. She has stunning curly brown fur that shimmers with golden highlights when the sunlight touches her — truly a little gem waiting to shine again.
Madam Mim’s story is one of quiet courage. She was found wandering as a stray, frightened and unsure of the world around her. After fending for herself, it’s no surprise that she’s still terrified of new people, sounds, and surroundings. Right now, she’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for — one gentle moment at a time. She will not be a good fit for children.
Although she’s shy, Madam Mim has shown that she has a gentle, trusting spirit buried beneath her fear. She’s housetrained and well-behaved in the home — she just needs patience and understanding to come out of her shell. Every small sign of progress, from a curious sniff to a wag of her tail, is a glimpse of the loving companion she’s becoming. She does have some sight issues causing her to be mostly blind. Maybe just close proximity of sight only. This may be contributing to her needing extra time to get settled in.
Madam Mim needs a quiet, loving home — someone who can move at her pace, give her space when she needs it, and celebrate each small victory as she learns to trust again. With time, kindness, and a lot of love, this shy little girl will blossom into the loyal, affectionate dog she was always meant to be.
If you have a gentle heart and the patience to help a scared dog feel safe, Madam Mim will reward you with the most beautiful gift of all — her trust. She’s waiting for someone special to show her that people can be kind, hands can be soft, and home can finally be a place where she belongs. 💕

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
