Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue
Meet Little OJ, a beautiful, big orange-and-white boy whose story is as moving as his spirit is gentle. His coat, warm as autumn sunlight, and his soft amber eyes hint at the sweetness he carries inside—but they also reflect the uncertainty of a cat who has known sudden loss and is learning to trust the world again.
Little OJ once had a safe place to call home at a local cat sanctuary. It was a haven he understood, a rhythm he relied on—until a devastating fire changed everything. He is one of the lucky survivors, but the memories of that frightening day linger in the cautious way he moves and the timid glances he gives as he adjusts to life here at Kitty Corner. He’s gathering his bearings, trying to rebuild his sense of safety one small moment at a time.
Beneath that understandable fear, though, lies a truly tender soul. Little OJ is gentle to his core, a cat who wants to lean into love but needs someone patient enough to let him come forward on his own. With calm voices, slow movements, and a soft, steady presence, he begins to bloom—revealing a boy who yearns for affection, who melts under kind pets, and who watches you with a quiet hope that is impossible to ignore.
He has lived peacefully with other cats and even shared space with dogs in his previous sanctuary home, showing that his heart is open and capable of forming bonds. At this time, however, we are seeking a forever home without young children—somewhere tranquil, understanding, and full of gentle reassurance—so Little OJ can heal at his own pace.
This sweet survivor isn’t just looking for a home; he’s searching for someone who sees the bravery in his small steps forward, someone who understands that trust, once broken, grows best with compassion. And when Little OJ finally lifts his head and nudges into your hand with confidence, you’ll know the truth: every ounce of patience was worth it.
If you have a quiet home, a tender heart, and the desire to give a deserving cat the second chance he’s been waiting for, Little OJ is ready to begin again—this time, with love that lasts.
Meet the #CatsOfGettysburg - Apply to adopt at bit.ly/AdoptFLR and we will help you find the purr-fect kitty for your family! Visit dozens of our adoptable cats and kittens at our Kitty Corner adoption center 39 Queen St in historic Gettysburg PA on any Saturday or Sunday from 11am-3pm. All of the cats listed are located in or near Gettysburg unless otherwise noted. Please note that while we work hard to keep our available cats up to date we also have many that are not posted yet. Adoption fees are $60 for adult cats and kittens over 6 months old, $100 for kittens (under 6 months) and $30 for senior cats (7 years+) to help cover vet bills for spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, testing, microchips and preventatives. No cat will be officially adopted without being spayed/neutered and vaccinated (unless there are health risks in doing so). We highly recommend adopting kittens in pairs and we do discount for double adoptions here to encourage it.
We are always in need of donations to help us continue to save hundreds of cats and kittens every year. Visit bit.ly/DonateFLR for more info. Be sure to check us out on Facebook at bit.ly/KittyCornerFB and "LIKE" our page and share our posts!
