My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Koch
If you are wondering how to pronounce my name, it sounds like `cook`. I’m pleased to make your acquaintance. I arrived at the HSHC on November 14, after being picked up by a kind person in Arcadia, IN. I am 8 years old but feel as if I were 1. I’m a 9-pound, orange-and-white DSH with tabby markings. Healthy and ready for fun, I was sent over to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe (SKCC) right away. This place really rings my bell! The very best part is the huge, realistic tree that I can easily climb. Although I’m a friendly, outgoing fellow, I am usually drawn to the tree where I can observe all the activity in the room! The interviewer lady (IL) tried her best to lure me down from the branches with sweet talk and treats. But this tree has a magical effect on me. I smiled down at her and let her take my picture, but she had to ask the staff if I was a nice guy. They all agreed that I’m a great cat with a wonderful personality. You will have to come over and see for yourself! I’ll be waiting! 12-8-25

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
