My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there… I’m Diamond City! When I first arrived at the shelter, everything felt so big and scary. I was a tiny stray who wasn’t quite sure if people were safe, so I spent a lot of time watching from a cozy corner. But the kind humans here kept showing me gentle hands and soft voices, and little by little… I learned to trust. Now? Oh, I’ve discovered something magical — head scratches, chin rubs, and belly pets are some of the best things in the whole world. I lean right in, purr like a tiny motor, and love curling up for warm cuddles. I may still have a soft, shy side, but once I know you’re my person, I’ll blossom into the sweetest companion. I’m just a young girl with a big heart, waiting for the right home to give all my love to. If you’re patient, kind, and ready for a gentle soul to adore you endlessly, I’ll be your little diamond forever. Will you be the one to show me what unconditional love feels like?

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
