Meet Shelby, the Crested Gecko! With proper care they can live 15-20 years. Crested Geckos have some specialized care needs. They need a good sized terrarium with lots of climbing and hiding spots for them. They need their humidity levels in their enclosure to not drop below 50% humidity, so hygrometers and thermometers in the enclosure are highly recommended. They can climb up glass walls and are fairly small so will need to have a good lid on their enclosure with no small gaps they can escape from. Crested geckos like temperatures of 78 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. It can drop to the low 70s at night. In most areas this temperature range will be reached during the warm months of the year without additional heat. In summer, place crested geckos in a cool room if the temperature exceeds 87 degrees. During the winter crested geckos will tolerate night drops into the 60s. If you are interested in adopting, please call the SPCA to schedule an appointment. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Brown

Four simple steps to adopt a pet
1. Visit the SPCA at 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Visit with the pet you are interested in adopting to see if his personality fits your lifestyle.
2. If you are adopting a new dog and already have one at home, you will need to introduce them at the SPCA to ensure a good match. When adopting, please bring your current dog with you. Our animal care staff will assist you with introducing your current dog to the dog you are hoping to adopt. We also prefer when possible that all family members living in the home meet any new pet before adopting.
3. The SPCA adoption process takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All paperwork, vaccination records, and microchip information will be provided at this time.
4. Take your new lifelong family member home!
We understand that sometimes potential adopters are at work or school, coming from long distances, or need time to gather pets and family together to meet their potential new adoptee. Because of this, the SPCA offers a 24 hour hold on adoptable pets.
Holds cost $30 for a 24 hour period.
