Hello, my name is Cassius, and I’d love to tell you a little about myself and the kind of life I dream about.
I am a 3-year-old mini poodle, weighing 14.6 pounds, and I came into rescue after suffering a broken jaw. It was a tough experience, but with care, patience, and healing, I’ve shown just how resilient and brave I can be. Even with everything I’ve been through, I’ve held onto my gentle spirit and my desire to connect with people.
I’m a naturally sweet, affectionate, and curious boy who loves being around humans. I get excited easily — the world is just so interesting to me — and I especially enjoy being active. I have lots of energy, and I truly shine when I’m out running, walking, or exploring. If you’re someone who enjoys staying busy or having a partner for outdoor adventures, I think we’d be a wonderful match.
When I’m feeling particularly happy or enthusiastic, I sometimes use my mouth to express myself. It’s my way of showing excitement, and I’m learning every day how to manage that energy in softer, gentler ways. I just need someone willing to understand me and guide me as I continue to grow.
One important thing to know about me is that I value my mealtime routine. Because food makes me feel safe and focused, I prefer not to be touched while I’m eating. Giving me that small boundary helps me stay relaxed and confident.
After I’ve had the chance to play and burn off my energy, I settle beautifully into my calmer side. I become incredibly snuggly, sweet, and affectionate, happy to curl up next to my favorite humans and enjoy quiet moments. I love being close to people once I’ve gotten my wiggles out — it’s one of my favorite parts of the day.
What I’m hoping for is a home with someone patient, understanding, and ready to offer both structure and love. I’m eager to continue learning, bonding, and building trust with the person who chooses me. With the right match, I know I can be a loyal, joyful, and deeply loving companion.
If you’re looking for an active, bright-spirited little dog who’s ready for a fresh start and a lifetime of devotion, I would be truly grateful for the chance to meet you.
Adoption fee is: $450
ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

More about this rescue
CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
