My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sandy, a sweet 13-year-old pitbull mix who has been part of our family for twelve years. She was rescued from New Orleans during Hurricane Sandy and adopted from Helen Woodward Animal Shelter. Our mom is moving into assisted living and can no longer care for her, which is the only reason Sandy needs a new home.

Sandy is gentle, affectionate, and loves being around people. She’s great with both cats and dogs and is content relaxing at home, enjoying naps and a calm routine. She’s on a special diet and takes one pill a day for a kidney condition, but she manages it easily and is still bright and happy.

She would do well in a home that can offer companionship, a simple morning and evening feeding routine, and a warm, cozy place to rest.

If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion for her golden years, Sandy will bring so much joy.
