Meet Goku, a handsome stray-turned-sweetheart who’s ready to start his next chapter! When Goku first arrived, he was nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement, he’s shown his true colors—now he pops out to greet visitors and enjoys the company of people he trusts. In his new home, Goku will need a little time to settle in. Goku is very food-motivated, and his guilty pleasure is turkey snacks! He prefers canned food and is happiest when fed 6 ounces twice a day to keep his tummy full and his spirits bright. Since we don’t know if he has experience with other animals, a home where he can be introduced slowly—or one where he can be your one-and-only—would be best. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive boy who will blossom with patience and love, Goku might be your perfect match. Come meet him and help this once-nervous kitty continue his journey into confidence and comfort!
Goku has a mild medical issue that causes him to wobble when he walks. It does not require any treatment, but he cannot do high jumps or steep stairs and will need a low-sided litterbox. Ask staff if you are interested in learning more about Goku!
Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully.

You have two options:
#1- VISIT IN PERSON
Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter.
(Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.)
#2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD**
If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours.
**Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events.

-spay/neuter
-rabies vaccine
-current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian)
-FeLV/FIV blood test
-microchip implanted & registered to the adopter
-treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites
-veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin
-free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians
Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
