My name is Lyra (lie-rah)!

Lyra is a strong, sweet, protective pup who we adopted three years ago. She fit right in with our other dog and things were great; we;d never had a dog so cuddly before. At about two years old, we experienced behavioral issues from her with strangers and eventually our other dog. We;ve tried training, and while her temperament has improved a lot, we don;t feel safe having them loose together and it;s ultimately unfair to both dogs. This was a hard decision because we;re as attached to her as she is to us, but we know she can have a better life in a home that doesn;t have other dogs. We want to be upfront that she has bitten our other dog and a person before- no injuries sustained, but she is a tough, reactive dog and we want to make sure her new owners know what they;re doing. Aside from being stunningly gorgeous, she;s very playful, active, and loyal. We;re hoping to find her a home in a not crowded area and owners who are looking for a true companion, ideally who will be home often.
