My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NEW FOSTER NEEDED (approved DGS fosters only)

Animal Profile: Cow is a 1-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix who was kenneled with her best friend, Rea. The two were confiscated and taken to the shelter after their owner was arrested. Sadly, due to overcrowding, Cow also found herself at risk and in need of a safe place to go.

From the moment we saw her photos and videos, Cow’s gentle eyes and loving personality shone through. She’s a sweet, friendly little girl who deserves a fresh start and a family of her own. Cow is now safe and will be arriving in Washington on 11/13. We can’t wait to welcome this darling girl to the PNW and help her find her forever home!

Foster Update:

Meet Cow, affectionately called Ms. Moo by her foster human! Cow is an affectionate, sweet, smart lil bundle of lowrider energy. She's a snuggly dog and enjoys affection. She is great in crate with regular potty and play breaks in the yard. She's working on her leash manners and progressing quickly. No accidents in house or in the crate and she sleeps well through the night. She can be vocal if her person is out of the room for too long or leaves the house, but generally settles down after several minutes.

She's very food motivated and working on touch, twirl, place, name, come, and sit. She has a lot of playful energy and plays well with the other dogs in her foster home but could benefit from some additional leadership and training.

Cow can be mouthy when excited or when being toweled off from a trip out to the rainy/muddy outdoors, so she will need continued guidance to practice calm behaviors and redirecting to appropriate toys.

Ms. Moo enjoys running around the yard, playing keep away with the other dogs in her foster home, chasing balls (but not bringing them back yet), and chew time.

And, of course... those epic, adorable ears. I mean, who could resist that adorable face, those ears, and silky spotted fur? She'll be a great companion for some lucky person of family who is committed to her ongoing training.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.
