My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ralphie- I need to be adopted with Baby. We are besties and have become bonded.
I was rescued with injuries to my face and I was only 2 pounds at the time. A kind citizen reached out on facebook for help. He decided to take me to the Garland shelter, but with my injuries and how crowded the shelter was, he was turned away. He went
back to facebook and reached out again for help, and New Beginnings was able to take me in. My foster mom thinks I was kicked in the face due to the injuries I had. My ear was damaged and bleeding from the inside, my lip was torn from my jaw, and I had a few
broken teeth, all on the same side of my face. I went to the vet for medical care and slowly, I have been recovering. But the damage that was done is now my new cute little face. I will always have a drooping lip and a ‘funky’ ear. We call it ‘character’.
Even though my start of life was scarry and hurtful, my foster mom has been so loving and caring, and I now enjoy my best life with my foster sister, Baby. We have become inseparable. We both lived on the streets and have learned to trust people and hope to
find our forever home together. I am sweet, purr like crazy, and have learned how to ‘make biscuits’ by the dozens. I have been eating canned food since I was not able to eat hard food for so long, but I am now able to eat dry food. Now I enjoy both.

Ralphie is microchipped and currently in a loving foster home. His adoption fee is $105.00

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our focus is to place animals in loving, permanent homes where they will be cared for responsibly. Potential adopters or fosters are screened, up to and including home visits. We reserve the right to refuse placement of an animal for any reason. We thank you for understanding.

Adopters must be 21 years or older and willing to invest the time and money required to care for a pet. In addition to providing love and attention, regular medical care is required. Please ask if you would like more information about veterinary fees and costs.

Our animals come from a variety of situations. Some have been dumped at shelters or vets, and many are ill or malnourished when rescued. Although the animal has been in a protected environment, there is the possibility of unrecognized illness appearing after an adoption is finalized, especially because of the stress the animal may experience during the first few days at its new home. We advise adopters of the animal's known history and provide its veterinary records, but frequently we know only what the animal chooses to tell us. We cannot make any guarantee regarding the long-term health of any animal. Adoption fees are generally not refundable unless prior arrangements are made.

If you feel that you are ready to adopt, please e-mail adoptions@nbcrtx.org for prompt attention. A NBCR adoption counselor will contact you to arrange an interview.
