My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nala came to us as an owner surrender when her family could no longer care for her. Understandably, the transition into a busy, noisy shelter was overwhelming for her, and she spent her first days feeling scared and unsure. But with patience, calm voices, and the steady support of a few staff members she bonded with, Nala’s sweet and affectionate side has slowly begun to shine.

Because shelter life can be stressful, Nala was prescribed a little medication to help manage her anxiety. We’re hopeful that once she finds the right home—quiet, stable, and full of reassurance—she may no longer need it at all.

Nala isn’t the biggest fan of carriers, but we’re working with her to help her feel more comfortable and secure. She has made wonderful progress and shows us daily how much trust she’s willing to give when treated with kindness.

Nala is looking for a calm, kid-free, dog-free home where she can feel safe and decompress at her own pace. She hasn’t shown any dislike toward other cats, and with slow introductions, she may do well with a gentle feline friend.

If you’re searching for a soft, sensitive companion who just needs a little time and understanding to blossom, Nala could be the perfect match. She’s ready for a patient family who can offer her the peaceful life she deserves.

Nala's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1
