My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Pichki, a quiet soul looking for someone who understands gentle hearts! Pichki is a sensitive, soft-spoken girl who`s been feeling overwhelmed by shelter life. Loud sounds, new faces and busy spaces are still a bit scar for her, so she spends most of her time tucked safely in her hiding spot. Even though she`s nervous, she`s shown glimmers of bravery, small sniffs of a hand, tiny shifts toward connection, and even a few hisses to advocate for herself!

With patience and a calm environment, Pichki has the potential to blossom. She`s the kind of cat who will form a deep, meaningul bond once she leans she can trust her person. A quiet home with predictable routines, cozy hideaways and a family who respects her pace will help her feel safe enough to come forward on her own terms!

If you`re someone gentle, kind, and willing to offer her the space she needs to open up, she may be the perfect match waiting to bloom with you! Come meet her today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
