My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Glitter - yes, like the sparkly stuff, and honestly, the name fits me perfectly. I'm a young cat with a heart that's way too big for my tiny body. I love people so much that I can't help but be wherever they are. If you sit, I sit. If you walk, I follow. If you nap... well, I might just nap right on top of you. I'm sweet, snuggly, and endlessly curious. One minute I'm cuddled up in your lap purring like a little engine, and the next I'm zooming across the room because something moved (or maybe it didn't, and I just imagined it). I can't help it - the world is exciting! I'm happiest when I'm with my humans, giving gentle head bumps, chirping for attention, or just being part of whatever's going on. Life is more fun when we're together, and I plan on sticking to you like the sparkliest shadow you've ever had. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who's always ready for affection (and maybe a few adventures), I'm your kitty - Glitter, at your service.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
