My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Reintroducing Carmen, now Maggie!

This sweet mama was on the euthanasia list after her puppies were taken from her by another rescue, and our hearts broke when we heard her story. Sadly, mama dogs who’ve been bred like she has often get overlooked just because of how they look. Maggie is covered in scabs, scrapes, and some cuts and we don’t know what caused them—it could be she was thrown from a car, or maybe attacked by other dogs. No matter what, this girl is such a gentle soul who just wants love and to trust humans so badly. She’s good with other dogs and really needs a quiet, loving foster home ASAP to rest and heal her body. We don’t want her to stay in boarding long. Please consider opening your home to foster or even adopt this sweet mama! We’ll provide everything you need—crate, bed, treats, toys—and cover all her vet care. Please consider fostering or adoption Maggie. Visit www.scoutshonor.org for more information.

SHR will require an application and home visit for the adoption of any of our animals. The customary adoption fee is $150 for dogs $85 for cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.

More about this rescue

Scout’s Honor Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill, Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization committed to bringing Courage, Character and Compassion to Houston’s homeless pet population and making a positive difference in the lives of these stray and abandoned animals and the Houston community as a whole. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to saving the life of a homeless animal.
