Brownie is a soft, soulful girl who’s feeling a little unsure right now—and it’s easy to understand why. She was adopted from our shelter as a puppy and spent her life knowing the comfort of a home, love, and routine. Recently, through no fault of her own, Brownie was returned after one of her beloved adopters passed away. Suddenly, everything familiar disappeared.
The shelter is a bit overwhelming for her, so she can seem nervous at first, but don’t let that fool you. In a home environment, Brownie truly blossoms. She does wonderfully with other dogs and children, finding comfort in companionship and gentle energy. She’s the kind of dog who fits right in—happy to be near you, content to nap nearby, and always ready for a quiet moment together.
Brownie is laid back, sweet, and easy to love. She’s not demanding or flashy—just a steady, kind soul who wants to belong again.
She already knows how to be someone’s family. All she needs now is another chance to come home. 💕More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org

More about this shelter
Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
