Meet Eli — a 6-month-old Pit/Catahoula mix with mesmerizing icy blue eyes and a stunning merle coat that makes him one of a kind. At 40 pounds of pure potential, he’s a gentle pup who’s just beginning to learn how beautiful life can be when kindness is part of it.
Eli arrived as an unclaimed stray, all alone and unsure, but now he’s ready for a fresh start — one filled with love, safety, and soft beds instead of cold pavement. In the shelter, he’s a little shy and sometimes hides under his bed, not quite sure if he’s safe yet. But once he’s out of the kennel, the real Eli shines through — playful, goofy, and so full of heart.
He’s a sweet, calm, and gentle boy who loves to play with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a confident canine buddy to play with. Eli walks well on a leash, enjoys treats, and melts under gentle praise — he just wants to hear he’s a good boy and feel safe enough to believe it.
After fending for himself on the streets, Eli deserves the world: a cozy bed, a kind hand, and a forever family who will never let him go hungry or lonely again.
With patience, love, and a sprinkle of treats, Eli will bloom into the loyal, joyful, one-of-a-kind companion he was always meant to be. He’s ready to start that journey — will you be the one to show him the good life?
Eli was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.
They will be available to meet starting 12/13!
Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events!
We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently.
