My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Step quietly into the forest and you just might catch a glimpse of a rare and wonderful creature. No, it's not a fox or a fawn or a particularly dignified squirrel- it’s Tazzy! Our beloved little warrior with the heart of a wanderer, the spirit of a woodland sprite, and a face made for treat-fueled fairy tales.

Tazzy isn’t your typical dog, and frankly, she’d rather not be. With her catlike charm and penchant for curling up like a pretzel in sunbeams, she’s charting her own path through the trees. Tazzy is a bit of an oddball in the most delightful ways: sitting in peculiar positions, hopping into cat trees, and approaching the world with a curious head tilt and an “I got this” attitude!

She adores her people in a quiet, thoughtful way and when she chooses your lap for a snuggle or gently rests her chin on your knee, it feels like being chosen by forest royalty. She gets along well with other animals, including cats and easygoing dogs, and enjoys neighborhood strolls and car rides that bring new smells and snacks to explore. Just like a storybook nymph, she can be shy at first with new humans, but warms up into a cuddly companion who will make you laugh, sigh, and fall in love again and again.

Tazzy has a neurological condition (REM sleep behavior disorder) that causes her to act out her dreams in a more striking way than typical puppy dreams! She’ll need a cozy and secure place to nap and live out her vivid sleep fantasies! She will require ongoing support for her medical needs and someone who sees her not in spite of her quirks, but because of them. She’s resilient, adaptable, and one of a kind — a gentle creature who’s weathered life’s storms with quiet grace and a keen eye for window views and soft blankets.

So if you’ve been searching for a magical companion to share snacks, secrets, and slow walks beneath the trees, Tazzy may just be the woodland weirdo you didn’t know you needed.

Tazzy is estimated to have been born in September 2023 and weighs 36lbs. Her adoption fee is $450 and she is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.

More about this rescue

Forgotten Dogs Rescue is a volunteer and foster home based rescue organization focused on saving Pit Bull type dogs. Located in Washington State, we are a 501c3 non-profit and have been saving animals since 2011. We are dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned dogs who are in Washington's shelters, surrendered by their owners due to difficult circumstances or are in danger of abuse or neglect.

We save the dogs that need help the most, the dogs whose time has run out, the dogs who have lost all hope — the forgotten dogs.
