**Note: Currently, Bandi is in a foster home in Vancouver, BC.
Background
Bandi is a sweet and gentle girl who was rescued this past summer from a city pound in Milyang. She lived in a boarding facility with other dogs until she left Korea. Currently, she is in a foster home in Vancouver waiting for her forever family.
Personality & Socialization
With a medium energy level, Bandi is gentle, sweet, and friendly. She greets visitors warmly and quickly becomes comfortable around them. At first, she may approach slowly and cautiously, but once she feels safe, her affectionate and playful side shines through. Bandi gets along well with other dogs and especially enjoys playing with those around her age and size.
Behaviours
Bandi enjoys gentle playtime and relaxing moments with her dog friends. She’s easygoing, loves being around people she trusts, and is well-mannered. She takes her bathroom breaks outside but will use indoor pads if needed. Bandi rides well in the car and handles baths without fuss. She’s still learning leash walking, but in a home setting she tends to follow her people closely. She’s quiet, well-behaved, and has not shown any destructive behaviors.
Health & Diet
Bandi is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. She’s dewormed and receives monthly parasite prevention. Bandi maintains a healthy weight on a regular diet and eats dry food twice a day. She has not shown any allergies.
Ideal Home
Bandi would thrive in a loving home where she is not left alone for long hours. She would be happiest with someone who works from home or is retired and can spend plenty of time with her. She enjoys companionship, gentle exercise, and a calm, steady routine. Bandi is a gentle soul who brings warmth wherever she goes. She’s ready to open her heart to a forever family who will give her the love and security she truly deserves.

Free Korean Dogs is a registered charity founded in 2015 with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever-loving homes for dogs saved from the Korean dog meat trade.
We divide our mission across three basic pillars: rescue, adopt, and engage. Since 2015, we’ve made huge advances in all three areas, shutting down three dog meat farm operations, facilitating the adoption of 1,800 rescue dogs, and launching Freedom Walk, our annual event to raise public awareness about the Korean dog meat trade:
RESCUE
Our organization has made significant strides in rescuing dogs from the dog meat trade, high-kill shelters and other high-risk conditions in Korea. We shut down dog meat farms and liberated over 500 dogs from unbearable suffering and despair.
ADOPT
Through our unwavering commitment, we have found forever-loving homes for more than 1,800 dogs rescued from brutal circumstances. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals and find them a new life filled with love and care.
ENGAGE
Our mission extends beyond rescue and adoption; we are dedicated to building a compassionate community. Through educational campaigns and events, we engage with individuals and organizations to create a cultural shift from cruelty to compassion.
