A tiny black Chihuahua with a soft heart and gentle eyes. She may be shy at first and needs a little time to feel comfortable, but patience goes a long way with this sweet girl. Once she warms up, Patty blossoms into a loving, loyal companion who enjoys being close to her people. She would thrive in a calm home that lets her build confidence at her own pace. Give Patty a little grace, and she’ll give you a whole lot of love in return.

More about this shelter

Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County, HSIMC, is a non-profit animal rescue and adoption center. Our team is dedicated to rescuing and placing abandoned and displaced animals into loving homes.

As a 501(c)(3), we receive no government funding and rely heavily on our community of supporters, grants, and fundraising.

We are located in Redwood Valley and hope you come visit us and the animals in our care. We also have many volunteer opportunities and invite you to join our team!

Volunteer orientation occurs the first Thursday and last Sunday of each month at 11am. Please check in at the front office, no appointment necessary. The orientation lasts about 45 minutes and anyone interested in dog walking can sign up for a 1:1 dog walking orientation with a senior volunteer or staff member. Our volunteers are welcome to volunteer anytime during open hours.
