My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We’re looking to find a new home for our 3-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound, Peter. We rescued him after he was abandoned as a puppy, and he has grown into a healthy, affectionate, and incredibly sweet dog. He’s a devoted snuggler and has that classic coonhound howl—loud, joyful, and full of personality.

Since the arrival of our new baby, Peter has developed increasing food-related aggression toward both people and other dogs. He has snapped a few times and has had one bite incident. For the safety of our family—and for Peter’s well-being—we believe he would thrive better in a home that can offer more structure, consistency, and one-on-one attention.

Peter would do best with an experienced owner who understands hound behavior and is comfortable working through food-guarding issues. In the right environment, we know he has so much love to give.

If you or someone you know might be a good fit, we’d love to talk and find Peter the supportive home he deserves.
