My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 2 years
Weight: 44.5 kg

A little about Joaquin:
- kids unknown
- cats / small animals unknown
- limited history with other dogs, potential for select other dog following successful dog-to-dog

A big, goofy boy with a love for snow, meet Joaquin! There`s nothing more he loves than playing, bouncing around being a silly boy, and getting lots of tasty hypoallergenic treats! Because Joaquin can be quite exuberant and gets easily over-excited, he`ll do best in a home that would be able to help properly re-direct him so he can learn proper doggy manners. Having lived with other dogs before, there`s a chance that Joaquin may do well with another dog in the home following a successful dog-to-dog! It will also be important that Joaquin`s family is prepared to feed him a hypoallergenic diet as he is prone to skin issues. So what are you waiting for? Come say hello to Joaquin today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
