My name is Salem!

Salem is a gentle, soulful sweetheart who loves face time with his people. He prefers a calm, laid back environment that gives him plenty of time to relax. He does not seem to care for many cat toys, but he absolutely loves his wand toy! He is quietly talkative and greets you when you come inside. He has the softest, gentlest meow when he needs to communicate something. He is very serious about his wet food and loves his gravy treats! Salem enjoys crawling in your lap while you work, cuddling while you binge watch or read, and relaxing on his own. He prefers calm, gentle handling and will give you lots of affection in return! He would also do best as the only cat in the home so that he can soak up all the love and attention available. He is well-adjusted to being home alone when needed and visits his tall cat scratcher several times a day.

Salem has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissible to humans.
