My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sookie is a snuggly, goofy girl who’s ready to steal your heart (and your spot on the couch). She lives for cuddles, belly rubs, and being close to her people. If you’re looking for a best friend who will happily lean into you and make you laugh every day, Sookie is your girl.

Her playful, silly personality shines through in everything she does, from her happy wiggles to her charming expressions.

Sookie is currently in a foster home! Fill out an adoption survey on our website to set up a meeting with her at chicagocaninerescue.org

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
