My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: Adult

Meet Briggsy, a handsome white and black guinea pig still getting used to his new life! Briggsy was sadly found abandoned alongside multiple other guinea pigs, but is making up for the hard start to life by being a curious, bright, and ever so active boy! Because guinea pigs are social animals, Briggsy may do well with a new piggy friend in his forever home.

With his rough start to life, Briggsy can still be a little shy of new people, so he`d love a home where everyone can give him lots of patience and space. Despite being on the shy side, he does appreciate the chance to stretch his little legs so a spacious, open-topped pen stocked with hay, fresh veggies, and the occasional fruity treat will make him happiest.

This sweet boy is ready to brighten his new home with his curious nature, wheeks, and charm—could you be the friend Briggsy’s been looking for?

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
