These two cuties came to us separately but have become quick friends and now live together so we'd like to keep them as a pair. Princess and Cali are both adult chins (we don't know their exact ages) and very food motivated so becoming their bestie just requires some yummy treats.
Chinchillas require some special care and a large plastic free enclosure - they are avid chewers so lots of wood shelves, apple sticks and pumice stones are necessary to keep their teeth healthy. They also need dust baths a few times a week which can get very messy so be prepared for lots of cleaning up. Their diet consists of specialized chinchilla food, unlimited Timothy hay & fresh water. Also a 16" running wheel is necessary to make sure they get their daily exercise plus out of the cage play time in a chin safe room.
Chins are a big responsibility and do require some extra work but if you have the time and devotion, they are excellent companions and will bring lots of laughs and fun to your home. Feel free to ask and questions. happytailsrescue@aol.com
