Greetings Friends!
My name’s Remarkable Remy --and I’m a seven-year-old Havanese boy with a soft gray-and-white coat and a heart that is loving (and ready to share my love.) Before I became a FurKid, I spent most of my life in a crate which is why my foster mom says I'm a one year old pup in a slightly older body. I like to have fun - and create fun, too! Why I feel like a brand-new pup!
I love being with my pack and have learned things like 'how to cuddle'. I don't need my 'own space' as I love being with my foster family. My new life includes chasing my doggy foster brothers around the yard. I’m not exactly sure what to do with the ball itself but I’m an enthusiastic member of the “dogs chasing dogs chasing the ball” team. It’s the best kind of fun!
When it comes to people, I’m all in. I love everyone I meet—men, women, kids of all sizes and shapes and visitors. If you smile and have a hand that likes to pet, we’ll be instant friends. I adore attention and will happily soak up affection. And when I’m ready to relax, I often retreat quietly to my crate (Mom calls it my happy place).
I’m an active guy who enjoys long walks, play time, and exploring the great outdoors. I walk nicely on a leash (okay, I might pull a bit to say hello to neighbors!), and I’m fully housebroken (and use a doggie door like a champ! I mastered it in no time at all.) I like to ride in the car—shotgun’s my favorite seat, but I’m happy to chill in the back too.
My Ideal Home Must Have:
– A like-sized, energetic doggy friend to keep me company and play with
– A safe yard for exploring and zoomies
– A family who enjoys walks and outdoor adventures
Experience Level:
– Adopters who understand active, fun-loving pups and can help continue light training
After seven years of waiting for my real life to begin, I’m finally free to run, play, and love—and am ready to share that joy with my forever family. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic companion who will greet every day with enthusiasm and a heart full of love, I just might be your guy.
Tail wags and smiles,
Radiant, Remarkable & Resilient Remy

Our Adoption Procedure: We require a written application at www.bichonfurkids.org
2.
Approve Application
All applications are screened and responded to by an Applications Coordinator.
3.
Home Check
We require a home/yard safety check which is done with a checklist and photos due to COVID restrictions.
4.
Approve Application
Once approved, our Placement Volunteers get in touch then forward applications that appear to be a good fit to the foster parents
5.
Meet the Pet
They then contact adopters to schedule a virtual adoption visit prior to an adoption visit held outdoors in keeping with COVID requirements
Additional adoption info
Prospective adopters must complete an online application available on our web site. A volunteer then conducts a telephone interview to review the application, followed by requesting a home and yard safety check. Once that has been completed - and if the prospective adopter is approved -the Placement staff will talk with the approved adopter to provide information regarding pups in our foster program that may represent a fit. That will be followed by the foster Moms and Dads contacting the approved adopter to answer questions and schedule an adoption visit at the foster home.
We require an adoption contract for each furkid plus the adoption donation. The fee for pups over one year of age
is $400.00 and is tax-deductible. The adoption fee for our puppies is $500. Our dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated when adopted and come with an 'adoption kit' which includes a bed, blanket, pillow, leash, collar, vitamins, toy and treats.
Donations beyond our adoption fee are also appreciated so that we can rescue and save more lives.

Our pets are all cared for in loving foster homes. While in foster care, the foster family ensures that they receive lots of tender loving care, have any medical needs addressed, get lots of exercise and training. This gives the foster family an opportunity to learn about each pup's personality so we can develop a bio that describes the furkid. In turn that knowledge enables us to better assist you in selecting a dog that will be the best fit for you and your family.
