My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dexter! This 12-pound, 2-year-old pug mix is the definition of a sweetheart. With his irresistible little underbite and gentle eyes, Dexter wins hearts everywhere he goes. He’s a naturally timid boy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe, he becomes the cuddliest lap dog you’ll ever meet. His absolute favorite place in the world is snuggled right up against his person.
Dexter gets along well with other dogs and does great in his crate while his foster family is away. He’s also potty trained, though he’ll need a consistent schedule at first to help prevent accidents as he settles into a new routine.
He walks nicely on a leash, though he can feel a bit unsure at first. With patience, reassurance, and plenty of positive experiences, he’s sure to gain confidence.
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving little companion who wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap and adore you, Dexter might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to find a calm, understanding forever home where he can blossom.

More about this rescue

Canine Cupids' mission is to protect and improve the lives of homeless, neglected, and exceptional needs dogs and to place them in permanent, loving homes.

Canine Cupids is a Certified 501c3 Organization
DATCPLicense: 288601-DS

Canine Cupids work with animals, within our community and throughout our organization is guided by three core values: compassion, integrity and dedication.

Because every animal deserves to be loved, we feel it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes.

We strive to work with animal control agencies as well as other rescues and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets within our community.

At Canine Cupids our founding principle is that "ALL dogs are individuals and deserve to be regarded as such". This mindset is core to the belief system at The Animal Farm Foundation. It assists in securing equal treatment and opportunity for "pit bull" dogs - as well as all dogs, regardless of size, color, etc.

"We owe it to all dogs to see them for who they really are, free of prejudice, stereotypes, and assumptions that are based on a known pedigree, a breed label guess, physical appearance, or their past history."*

"Breed related traits are not guaranteed. If a dog does conform to breed traits that does not mean a dog isn't an individual! Breed characteristics may contribute to a dog?s individuality, but they are not the whole story." *

Don't judge a book by its cover and don't judge a pooch by its stereotype!
