Meet Romina, a delightful adult dog who brings a burst of energy and joy wherever she goes. Known for her playful spirit and affectionate nature, Romina loves to cuddle and give hugs. She weighs 45 pounds and likes car rides, fetch, running, toys, walks, and water - except baths. She is perfectly leash trained, making her an ideal companion for adventurous walks, but she needs to work on her house training. She does understand the no command. While she can be a bit jumpy and cautious in new situations, her love for being a lap dog always shines through, warming the hearts of those around her. Even though she`s a social butterfly and the life of the party, Romina tends to take the lead when around other dogs. She has lived with a few and is playful but cautious, and she has no experience with children. Interestingly, she shows a surprising shyness around cats, preferring to keep her distance. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
