My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Montrose, MN

Mauritius has such a gentle spirit and a loving personality — truly one of kindest dogs we’ve met. He has never growled at a person or another dog, and he rarely barks (unless he catches his reflection or hears a strange noise.🤣

He’s wonderful with young kids and plays very well with other dogs. Sometimes he gets goofy bursts of excited energy and then he’s right back to being calm and sweet. He has some impressive agility and likes to show off his hops.

Mauritius listens extremely well. He comes when called, responds to direction, and will drop anything you ask him to. He’s still working on his basic commands and so far he can sit, and kennel (sometimes, high reward treats help). He enjoys cuddles when he’s in the mood and loves being near his people.

At night, he sleeps perfectly in his kennel as long as it’s in the same room. During the day, he can stay crated 4–8 hours after a short bit of whining. He settles quickly in the early mornings — later he’s fully charged and ready.

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).

Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
