Lovely Rita was pregnant and at a shelter in the area she was found. She came to rescue and had 5 lovely babies. She has raised them and is now ready to find her home!
She is FIV positive. This simply means she carries the virus. She may have a longer time healing (which has not proved to be the case with her spay and with her hernia repair). She may take a little longer to recover from an infection. She is a very calm and sweet girl.
FIV is passed through deep scratches and deep bites only. It can not be passed to humans or dogs. Cats CAN use the same litterbox, eat from the same food bowls, groom and hang out together. There are a lot of MYTHS and UNTRUTHS about FIV. We are happy to share correct information if you are interested.
Lovely Rita is a very sweet girl who loves pets and affection. She has not been around dogs that we are aware of, but would probably be okay with a cat friendly dog with a proper introduction. She seems fine around other cats with a proper introduction. She is fine around children.
