Foster or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Max!
Max’s journey began with a kind stranger who saw a puppy in need and said, “Not on my watch.” A Good Samaritan found him, cared for him, and kept him safe while waiting for his owner to step forward. When no one ever did, we stepped in to rewrite his ending.
This Collie mix is a classic young dog—brilliant, busy, and full of life. He wears a mostly black coat with a sharp hint of white on his chest and chin, like a perfectly placed design detail that says, “Yes, I was born this handsome.”
Max is playful, social, and charming in that goofy puppy way that makes you laugh even when he’s trying to launch himself into the air out of sheer excitement. He loves people, he loves other dogs, and he loves every moment of being alive. Because he’s still very much a puppy, continued training will be key in helping him grow into the thoughtful, well-mannered boy he’s already practicing to become. His forever home—or foster home—should be ready to keep that learning going.
We can’t say for certain how he feels about cats just yet, but we can confidently say chickens are not part of his social circle. Max will do best in a home that can either securely separate and protect their chickens or plan on living a chicken-free lifestyle altogether.
Max is the kind of dog that gets better every day. With his intelligence, eagerness to please, and natural Collie instincts, he’s primed to be an incredible companion for the right person or family—one who enjoys play, structure, and a dog who will absolutely keep life interesting.
If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Max, please visit LabradorsandFriends.org and submit an application. Let’s get this clever pup into the home he deserves, where the words “Good boy, Max” will be said often—and genuinely meant.
Max is located in Southern California.
