My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sparkie is being fostered in Moberly, MO.

This cutie pie is Sparkie. He was a stray that would up in a St. Louis shelter.  As you expected, he was not a fan of it.  We could not resist that adorable little face.  He is a mini Australian Shepherd, and quite possibly has a little border collie mixed in there.  He estimate him to be around 2 years old just based on his mannerisms and playstyle.  He currently weighs 28 lbs. He is YOUR next adventure buddy.

Sparkie is a social guy and has done well meeting other pups and other people  He is also in a foster home with cats and does fine.  He LOVES attention and is actually so Velcro, he can be underneath your feet a bit much.  He would do best with an active family that is willing to exercise him on a regular basis and potentially another playful pup.  He does have an off switch and can settle once he has had his daily exercise.  Sparkie is working on grooming and learning.  He is a great car rider and loves running errands with you. He does extremely well at the dog park and doggie daycare. Sparkie aka Finley has great recall and is good offleash.

Sparkie aka Finley has learned so much in his foster home. He is a super eager to please and very food motivated. Sparkie knows sit, down and shake. He is doing great on leash training and has some nice house manners.  He is crate trained and house trained.  Sparkie aka Finley would do best with an adopter who is willing to continue his training and possibly some obedience classes with him. He would thrive in an active home wanting to go on adventures. Sparkie aka Finely has not been around children, so ideal home would have children over 10 years of age.

Sparkie aka Finley is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, negative for heartworms and tickborne illnesses, and has been receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org-

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
