My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: Currently, Esoh is in Korea, but will fly to San Francisco once adopted.

Background
Esoh was originally found roaming the streets and ended up in a high-kill shelter. His name soon appeared on the euthanasia list, but luckily he was rescued just in time. Since then, he has been living at our partner boarding house, happily interacting with dogs of all sizes and getting along well with everyone.

Personality and Socialization
Esoh is a gentle, sweet, and friendly boy with a medium energy level. He is easygoing, affectionate, and loves being around people, including strangers. He warms up quickly and enjoys attention. With other dogs, he is social and gets along well as long as they are friendly and not dominant. If a dog is pushy, he simply walks away.

Behaviours
Esoh is low-maintenance and well-behaved. He goes potty outside or on pee pads, enjoys bath time, vet visits, and walks on a leash. He is comfortable in the car. He has no experience with cats, but with slow introductions, he would likely do well.

Health and Diet
Esoh is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is dewormed and takes monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble and has shown no signs of allergies. He is healthy and ready for his forever home.

Ideal Home
Esoh is adaptable and would do well with almost any family, including first-time dog parents, people who are retired, or those looking for a second dog. His ideal home is one where someone is home most of the time, such as people working from home or retired, because he thrives on human companionship. Whoever adopts this lovely boy will have a loyal and affectionate friend for life.

More about this rescue

Free Korean Dogs is a registered charity founded in 2015 with the mission to rescue, rehabilitate and find forever-loving homes for dogs saved from the Korean dog meat trade.

We divide our mission across three basic pillars: rescue, adopt, and engage. Since 2015, we’ve made huge advances in all three areas, shutting down three dog meat farm operations, facilitating the adoption of 1,800 rescue dogs, and launching Freedom Walk, our annual event to raise public awareness about the Korean dog meat trade:

RESCUE
Our organization has made significant strides in rescuing dogs from the dog meat trade, high-kill shelters and other high-risk conditions in Korea. We shut down dog meat farms and liberated over 500 dogs from unbearable suffering and despair.

ADOPT
Through our unwavering commitment, we have found forever-loving homes for more than 1,800 dogs rescued from brutal circumstances. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to rehabilitate these animals and find them a new life filled with love and care.

ENGAGE
Our mission extends beyond rescue and adoption; we are dedicated to building a compassionate community. Through educational campaigns and events, we engage with individuals and organizations to create a cultural shift from cruelty to compassion.
