My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💫 Meet Gary — The Gentle Little Greeter With a Heart of Gold! 💫

Say hello to Gary, the kitten who thinks every day is the perfect day to make a new best friend! With his bright eyes, soft tabby coat, and the sweetest little meow you’ve ever heard, Gary is a total heart-stealer.

This boy has energy for days—he’s curious, playful, and always ready to explore whatever catches his attention. But the moment you reach for him? He melts right into your hands for pets and affection.

Gary is always the first to run over and greet you, chatting away with his tiny meows as if he’s telling you all about his morning adventures. Despite all his energy, he’s incredibly gentle, sweet, and loves being close to his people.

He’s also doing great with his litter box and is all set with his vaccines and neuter, making him ready to join his forever family!

If you’re looking for a kitten who brings fun, love, and constant little conversations, Gary is your guy. 💛

🐾 Come meet Gary — your home won’t feel complete without him!

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
